Players control a team of 1-4 chefs, working together to prepare, cook, and serve a variety of dishes in a series of increasingly chaotic kitchens. The objective is to complete a certain number of orders within a time limit by efficiently handling tasks like chopping ingredients, cooking food, assembling dishes, and delivering them to customers. The controls are simple, allowing players of all skill levels to easily pick up the game - each chef can walk, run, pick up and carry items, and interact with cooking equipment like stoves, cutting boards, and sinks.

Successful teams must coordinate their actions, delegate responsibilities, and communicate verbally to ensure orders are fulfilled efficiently. The frantic, high-pressure experience rewards strong teamwork and decision-making skills, as players struggle to keep up with the pace and avoid common mistakes like dropped ingredients or burning food. The chaotic nature of the kitchens frequently leads to humorous moments as players attempt to avoid catastrophe.

The game's levels gradually increase in complexity and challenge, introducing new mechanics and obstacles that force players to rethink their approach. Early stages may have a straightforward kitchen layout, while later levels incorporate moving platforms, teleporters, narrow pathways, and other environmental hazards that disrupt the workflow. As players progress through the campaign, they unlock new chefs, kitchens, and recipes, adding variety to the gameplay and encouraging repeated playthroughs. The star-based scoring system also provides an incentive for players to master each level, as earning higher scores unlocks access to subsequent stages.
