Rocked by an explosive soundtrack, choose your band, place your equipments and defend the Rock 'N' Roll from everyone and everything who try to pull it down, on a totally hardcore tower defense!
The objective is to defend a rock concert stage from various music genre fans (such as pop, country, and techno) who are trying to disrupt the show. Players must strategically place and upgrade different types of speaker towers to eliminate the enemy waves.
The game features 8 different types of speaker towers, including basic speakers, long-range speakers, freezing speakers, and more. Each tower type has its own strengths and weaknesses, and players can only bring 4 tower types into each level, requiring careful strategic planning.
Players can place towers in fixed locations around the stage. As players earn coins from eliminating enemies, they can upgrade their towers up to 3 times to improve attributes like damage, range, and fire rate. Finding the optimal tower placements and upgrade paths is crucial for success.
The early levels are fairly easy, allowing players to rely on the basic speaker towers. However, the difficulty ramps up significantly later on, forcing players to effectively utilize the various tower types and their upgrade paths to survive the increasingly challenging enemy waves.
Each level has a target of earning 3 "skulls" by completing it without taking any damage to the stage. Achieving this on all 40 levels provides an additional challenge for players seeking to fully complete the game. The gameplay loop of strategizing tower placement and upgrades remains engaging throughout.
Players enjoy the rock music-inspired aesthetic, with the different enemy types representing various music genre stereotypes. The tower selection, while simple, offers enough variety to keep the gameplay engaging. The game's balance of challenge and accessibility is also a highlight. While the later levels can be quite difficult, the overall difficulty curve is well-paced, allowing players to gradually improve their strategies and master the game's mechanics. The ability to earn 3-skull ratings on each level provides an incentive for replayability and a sense of accomplishment.
