A roguelite deckbuilding adventure game about magical coins. You play as a lootmancer, who can unlock the hidden power inside of coins and use them in magical duels. The loots you take from chests and enemies also become your next moves, so plan carefully!
Players take on the role of a "lootmancer" who can unlock the hidden power of magical coins. These coins, found in chests and from defeated enemies, serve as the player's deck of moves in battle. However, each coin can only be used once before it is spent, forcing players to carefully manage their limited coin resources. This creates a unique fusion of deckbuilding and roguelike gameplay, as players must decide which coins to use for attacks versus saving them for purchases or future battles.
Combat eschews turn-based mechanics in favor of a real-time active system. Each coin has a cast time, and players must react rapidly to the changing battlefield, quickly selecting the appropriate coin to play before their opponent acts. This adds a layer of skill and tension, as players need to balance short-term effectiveness with long-term coin management.
The game features 19 unlockable character classes, each with unique abilities that dramatically alter the player's optimal strategies. Some classes may focus on stealing coins from enemies, while others specialize in healing or dealing massive damage. Experimenting with different class and coin combinations adds tremendous replayability as players discover new synergies and playstyles.
Coins serve multiple purposes - they are used for combat, purchasing items, and donating to in-game deities. Careful planning is required to decide which coins to keep, spend, or sacrifice in order to progress through the procedurally generated levels. This strategic challenge of coin conservation versus immediate combat effectiveness is a core part of the gameplay.
While each run ends in permanent death, players are able to unlock new character classes, coins, and enemies over time. This persistent progression system encourages players to continue experimenting and improving, as unlocking new options can dramatically change the flow of a run. The sense of gradual mastery and character development adds depth to the roguelike formula.
