Take a stand in the eternal conflict between Arcane Magic and Steampunk Revolution and tip the uneasy balance between sorcery, elves, dwarves and mysterious monsters on one side and steampunk gadgets, zeppelins, and tesla guns on the other in this single-player, party-based, story-rich RPG.
The turn-based combat system allows players to control up to four party members, with each character's base stats, upgradeable skills, perks, and equipped gear factoring into the encounter. Players have access to a diverse array of abilities, such as "trick shot" pistol attacks that can ricochet between enemies, and devastating magical spells. The combat strikes a well-balanced challenge, rewarding strategic planning without feeling overly punishing.
In addition to combat, players will spend a significant amount of time exploring the dynamic game world and completing quests through dialogue and skill checks. The skill check system seamlessly integrates environmental factors, granting bonuses or penalties based on the player's surroundings. This encourages careful consideration of each approach, as players look for ways to gain an advantage through their environment.
While the current Early Access version offers a limited selection of two races (Human and Elf) and two classes (Diesel Technician and Voodoo Shaman), the character customization system is a core gameplay pillar. Each class provides unique abilities and playstyles, which players can further specialize through their choice of gear and equipment.
A compelling gameplay mechanic is the conflict between magic and technology. Players can choose to focus on mastering arcane arts or steampunk-inspired gadgets, with the two forces destabilizing each other if not properly balanced. This dynamic is reflected in the crafting system, where players create both magical and technological items to aid them in their adventures.
