Players choose from over 100 unique plant and zombie characters, each with distinct abilities and playstyles. The character variant system further diversifies gameplay, allowing players to experiment and discover new approaches to combat. For example, players can unlock a Toxic Pea variant that fires electricity-infused projectiles, or a Super Brainz variant that can fly across the map and one-shot enemies. The game offers a variety of engaging game modes. In the 24-player Herbal Assault mode, players join either the plant or zombie faction and compete to capture and hold objectives across the map. The fast-paced, chaotic battles keep players on their toes, with little downtime between engagements.

❤ Singleplayer and Cooperative Content

The game features separate singleplayer campaigns for the plant and zombie factions, providing a narrative-driven experience that introduces players to the game's lore and cast of characters. Additionally, the Backyard Battleground hub allows up to 4 players to team up and tackle cooperative challenges and quests together.

Players can extensively customize their characters with a wide range of accessories, costumes, and other cosmetic items.
