The game fuses several genres - roguelite, deck-building, tower defense, and city-building - into a cohesive, fast-paced real-time strategy experience. Players find this novel combination highly addictive, blending the deckbuilding and progression of Slay the Spire with the real-time tower defense of Kingdom: New Lands.
At the heart of the experience, players start each run with a basic deck of 8 cards, then expand and refine it over time. Defeating enemies and completing waves rewards new cards, allowing players to create powerful combinations. Carefully managing which cards to keep, remove, or upgrade adds deep strategic depth.
Where the game truly differentiates itself is in the real-time execution of its tower defense mechanics. Waves of enemies attack from both sides, forcing players to make quick decisions and manage resources in the moment. Balancing economic development, defensive deployments, and card abilities creates a constant sense of urgency to survive each onslaught.
The six playable leader characters each have unique starting decks, special abilities, and progression paths.
