Humans live alongside creatures, each with different personalities, abilities, and moral codes. The invention of the DiscKid has changed life for everyone. Humans can copy creatures and use their power to help others and solve mysteries around the world.
Players collect creature "discs" instead of using Pokéball-like items. Defeating a creature in battle grants a chance to obtain its disc, which players can then use to summon that creature to their active party. This disc-based system encourages players to engage in battles across a wide variety of creatures to grow their collection.
The combat utilizes a three-on-three party-based format. Players must carefully consider type matchups and synergies between their three active creatures. Creatures have access to a pool of unlockable moves, allowing players to customize their movesets and adapt their strategies as needed.
An innovative mechanic is the use of "Energy Points" (EP) instead of limited-use attacks. Creatures can spend an action to recharge their EP, leaving them vulnerable but ensuring they can continue using their abilities. This EP management system encourages players to carefully time their attacks and movements to maintain their offensive capabilities.
Outside of battle, players can freely swap out a creature's available moves. This allows them to tailor their party's movesets to the challenges they expect to face, rather than being limited to a fixed set of attacks. This flexibility and customization adds depth to the gameplay and rewards players for planning ahead.
The game also features a unique "fusion" mechanic. By collecting specific combinations of creature discs, players can fuse them together to create entirely new, more powerful creatures. This fusion system encourages players to diversify their creature collection and experiment with different combinations.
