'Death Coming' is a non-linear puzzle game where you must harvest human souls ‘Final Destination’ style. However, pesky mortals are not your only problem, as the Agents of Light will do everything they can to stop you.

❤ Gameplay Premise and Objectives

You take on the role of a Reaper's assistant, tasked with causing the deaths of various human targets and bystanders in each level. You cannot directly kill the characters, but must instead manipulate the environment and set up "death traps" to indirectly cause their demise. The main objectives are to kill the designated target characters as well as a certain number of other people in each level to progress.

❤ Non-Linear Level Design

The levels feature a non-linear design, allowing you to approach each one in any order and tackle the puzzles in different sequences. This provides you with flexibility in how you approach the challenges.

❤ Observing, Planning, and Executing

The core gameplay loop revolves around observing the movements and behaviors of the human characters, planning out the best ways to trigger environmental hazards like dropping flower pots or opening manhole covers to kill them, and then executing those plans at the right moments. You must learn the routines and idiosyncrasies of the characters to time your traps effectively.

❤ Reactive AI and Dynamic Environments

The human characters exhibit reactive AI, changing their actions and movements in response to events happening around them. Additionally, dynamic environmental factors like weather conditions can alter the functionality and timing of the available death traps, forcing you to constantly adapt your strategies.

❤ Combo Kills and Scoring

Killing multiple characters with a single trap activation results in combo multipliers, greatly increasing your score. Optimizing these combo kills is a key part of mastering each level and chasing high scores.

❤ Challenges and Obstacles

While setting up and triggering the death traps is the core gameplay, you also have to contend with "Agents of Light" - angelic entities that will appear and interfere if they detect your actions, penalizing you. This introduces an additional timing and stealth element to the puzzles.

❤ Replayability and Progression

The non-linear design and focus on optimizing kills for high scores provide significant replayability. As you progress through the levels, new environmental hazards and gameplay mechanics are introduced, adding complexity and variety to the puzzling.
