Money Talks. Silence Pays. Prepare to Make a Killing. When assassins from Agent 47's contract agency, The ICA, are eliminated in a series of hits, it seems a larger, more powerful agency has entered the fray. Sensing he may be a target, 47 travels to America, and prepares to make a killing.
Each mission presents players with one or more targets to eliminate, but the methods available are numerous and highly flexible. Players can experiment with a variety of assassination techniques, from sniping, poisoning, or staged "accidents" to more direct approaches like gunfights or hand-to-hand combat. This allows for a high degree of player agency and replayability, as the same mission can play out in vastly different ways.
Blending into the environment by stealing guard uniforms, maintenance outfits, and other disguises is a core part of the gameplay loop. Maintaining good "Notoriety" by avoiding witnesses and clean kills is crucial, as increased notoriety can make it harder to move around undetected in future missions. The stealth mechanics, such as hiding bodies, using distractions, and silently neutralizing enemies, are praised for their complexity.
Players can modify their favorite firearms with silencers, different ammunition types, scopes, and other attachments.
