You play as Azai Kyousuke, the son of an infamous gangster. Kyousuke knows what he likes and lets nothing stand in his way in getting what he wants. Referred to as God by his classmates, he often enjoys listening to Bach and "working" part time for his stepfather.
The developers structured the gameplay around an engrossing narrative, placing the story at the forefront. As a visual novel, players primarily read through the text-driven story and make occasional choices that branch the narrative. These choices, while limited, significantly impact the direction of the plot and the relationships between characters. The focus is on engaging the player through the gripping mystery and crime drama unfolding, rather than traditional gameplay mechanics.
Players progress through the story by clicking to advance the text, and occasionally make choices that alter the narrative path. However, there are no complex gameplay systems, puzzles, or interactive elements beyond this. The experience is centered around consuming the story and characters presented to the player, with minimal direct interaction.
The limited choices players make drastically impact the story. The game features multiple narrative branching points, leading to different character routes and endings. Players can pursue relationships with various female characters, each with their own story arc. Additionally, there is a "true" or "main" storyline that players can access by making the "right" choices. Completionist players can aim to experience all the available narrative branches and endings.
The pacing is deliberate and methodical, with the story unfolding at a measured pace. Chapters are structured around specific characters and their involvement in the overarching mystery. While the early parts may feel slow, the narrative gradually builds tension and momentum, leading to a climactic conclusion. Progression is linear, with players advancing through the story sequentially, though they can revisit previous choices and paths.
