Players start with a basic deck of "Militia" and "Apprentice" cards, which provide the two main currencies - Power and Runes. You use these currencies to acquire more powerful cards from a central board shared by all players. As you add these new cards to your deck, you can draw stronger cards in subsequent turns and generate more of the currencies needed to acquire even better cards.

The game features over 600 cards across the base game and 9 expansions, allowing you to explore a huge number of possible card combinations and deckbuilding strategies. Different card types, such as Heroes, Constructs, Mystics, and Monsters, enable you to focus on developing diverse card synergies. Some strategies may revolve around maximizing Power generation, others on Honor point scoring, and others on deck thinning and card draw.
