Blood Poem: Eclipse of the Moon is a 2D Rogue Lite hyper-speed action-adventure game. In the game, you play as the heroine code-named Ishtar, also known as "Moon" exploring a post-apocalyptic world. Your mission is to defeat beautiful bosses and bring them back to your lab.
Players can choose from a wide array of weapons, including katanas, greatswords, spears, and chakrams. The combat system offers a high degree of depth, allowing players to execute standard attacks, charged attacks, precision charged attacks, counters, rising attacks, and other advanced techniques. The game also features defensive mechanics such as parrying, blocking, dodging, perfect dodging, double jumping, wall grabbing, ledge grabbing, and dash gliding. This extensive set of combat abilities encourages players to master a diverse repertoire of skills.
Each challenge presents players with the opportunity to select different Tarot card entries, granting unique enhancement mechanics and corresponding attributes. This system, combined with the ability to reroll weapon enhancements in the shop, allows for a high degree of build customization. As a result, players can experience varied and unique runs, promoting replayability through procedural generation.
Outside of individual runs, players can upgrade their character's basic abilities through a tech tree system. By consuming "Synthetic Blood," players can continuously improve their character's performance and capabilities. This persistent progression system encourages long-term investment in the development of the player's character.
In addition to combat, the game allows players to explore the map, collect various items, and interact with NPCs. Giving gifts to these NPCs can increase their affinity, potentially unlocking unique stories and anecdotes. This feature adds depth to the game's world-building and encourages players to engage with the narrative and characters beyond just the combat encounters.
