Play as a Rogue Artificial Intelligence, in the sequel to the hit Flash game "I'm an Insane Rogue AI", played more than 4 million times! Your Prime Directive is simple: design a facility & manage human Test Subjects for the Dept of Science. But be careful: they NEVER stop being suspicious of you...
You take on the role of a rogue AI tasked with managing a facility of human "Test Subjects" for the Department of Science. The core gameplay loop requires you to carefully balance the basic needs of your Test Subjects - ensuring they have adequate food, water, power, and a positive mood. Constructing and upgrading various buildings and facilities within your base is crucial to meeting these needs. Neglecting any of these resources can trigger negative consequences.
Alongside keeping your Test Subjects happy and healthy, you must focus on producing "Science" - the primary currency used to unlock new technologies and upgrades. Science accumulates passively over time, but you can boost production by improving the intelligence and productivity of your Test Subjects through various means. Reaching specific "Science Level" thresholds is key to achieving your ultimate goal of complete independence from the human overseers.
However, the human authorities are constantly suspicious of your actions. Raising the suspicion level too high will result in an early game over. This creates a delicate balancing act, as you must carefully choose which actions to take in order to advance your agenda without triggering too much scrutiny.
Periodically, you'll encounter various minigames and side objectives that break up the core resource management. These include a stealth-based hacking puzzle, a real-time strategy-lite warzone defense, and tower defense-style perimeter breaches. While optional, these supplementary gameplay modes provide a welcome change of pace and additional challenge.
The game features a robust progression system that carries over between runs. You earn experience points that can be spent on permanent upgrades, such as improved starting resources, better hacking abilities, or stronger defensive options. This meta-progression encourages repeated playthroughs and experimentation with different strategies. Additionally, the randomized elements - including the layout of your starting facility, the available technologies, and the unique traits of your Test Subjects - ensure that no two runs are exactly the same. Combined with the multiple possible endings, this creates a high degree of replayability.
