A House of Thieves is a level-based stealth comedy-horror game about a Thief who doesn't go shopping but instead takes his shopping list and breaks into random houses to get his things.
Players navigate through level-based stealth scenarios, tasked with breaking into random houses to obtain items on their shopping list. The game features randomized item placement, challenging players to thoroughly search every nook and cranny of each house to locate the required goods.
To avoid detection, players must utilize a variety of stealth tactics. They can hide in closets, turn off lights, and distract the homeowners, who randomly roam the premises. Successful stealth maneuvers and quick item collection are rewarded with higher scores, unlocking additional gadgets and items.
The multiplayer mode offers a competitive twist, enabling up to four players to take on the roles of either thief or homeowner. Thieves work to complete their shopping lists, while homeowners set up traps and obstacles to stop their opponents. This strategic cat-and-mouse gameplay adds depth and replayability to the experience.
Throughout the gameplay, players encounter a unique set of items on their shopping lists in each level. The randomized nature of the lists and item locations ensures that no two playthroughs are exactly the same, encouraging exploration and adaptability.
