A former member of the criminal underworld is lured back into “the life” by a mysterious drone claiming they have until sunrise to prevent a citywide criminal takeover together.
The game's combat system takes direct inspiration from the Batman: Arkham series and Sleeping Dogs, allowing players to seamlessly transition between a diverse array of techniques. Players can punch, kick, parry, counter, throw objects, and wield a wide assortment of melee weapons and firearms to take down waves of enemies. The motion capture work by stunt performer Eric Jacobus gives the fighting a visceral, impactful feel, with players able to string together devastating combos and brutal takedowns.
As players progress, they unlock a sprawling skill tree that expands their fighting repertoire. Skills include powerful combos, grappling maneuvers, disarms, and the ability to weaponize the environment. This deep upgrade system allows players to develop their own signature fighting style, whether that's a focus on raw melee damage, acrobatic counters, or a hybrid approach mixing guns and fists. The diverse enemy types force players to adapt their approach, as some foes are vulnerable to certain attacks but resistant to others.
