❤ Traversal and Exploration

You must use your boat to cross expansive bodies of water, then disembark and continue on foot or by swimming. Exploring the flooded city reveals collectibles and the backstories of the various monsters you encounter. For example, you may discover a wedding ring on the claw of a fire-breathing creature, hinting at the toxic relationship between the monster and its office-worker father.

❤ Puzzle-Solving

The game features light puzzle-solving mechanics that integrate with the narrative. You can emit a focused beam of light to activate switches or reveal hidden paths, advancing the story and deepening your understanding of the characters.

❤ Confronting Monsters

As you explore, you'll come across fantastical creatures, each representing a different emotional struggle. Facing off against these "monsters" is less about challenging gameplay and more about storytelling. Using your light abilities, you can confront and overcome these entities, uncovering their personal struggles and how they relate to the protagonist's journey.

❤ Minimal Combat

Aside from the occasional encounter with a giant, whale-like monster, the game does not feature traditional combat mechanics. The emphasis is squarely on exploration, puzzle-solving, and narrative progression.
