❤ A Streamlined and Refreshing Tactics Experience

The game does away with many traditional TRPG systems, instead focusing squarely on the core tactical combat. Players control a party of 6 units - 3 "leader" characters and 3 summoned "fae" creatures. Each unit has a simple set of 3 abilities: one for attacking enemies, one for assisting allies, and one for self-buffs. This streamlined command system allows players to quickly assess their options and execute their turns without getting bogged down in menus.

❤ Elemental Rock-Paper-Scissors

A major strategic component is the elemental system. Each unit and enemy has an affinity for one of the game's 5 elements - Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, and Arcane. These elements have strengths and weaknesses against each other, creating a rock-paper-scissors dynamic that players must consider. Before each battle, players can survey the enemy forces and plan their party accordingly, bringing units and abilities that exploit the enemies' elemental weaknesses.

❤ Flexible Unit Customization

While the game lacks the deep class systems of other tactical RPGs, it provides players with surprising flexibility in how they build and customize their units. The "leader" characters can equip powerful scrolls that grant them unique abilities and stat boosts, while the summoned fae creatures can be assigned different roles and abilities. Reviewers note this customization, while not as complex as traditional job systems, still allows for a great deal of strategic depth.

❤ Engaging Encounter Design

Battles often feature unique map layouts, enemy compositions, and objective conditions that require players to adjust their strategies. Some missions may task players with protecting allied NPCs, while others might have environmental hazards like pits or water that impact unit movement and positioning. Bosses in particular are highlighted as challenging but fair tests that demand careful planning and execution.
