Temtem is an online creature-collection adventure. Tame 165 unique creatures across 7 vibrant islands, battle other tamers, tackle mythical Lairs, chase Luma & Umbra variants, and breed your favorite Tems - with friends by your side! Dive into a colorful monster catching adventure, so Temtem up!
As a prospective Temtem tamer, you'll embark on a journey across the game's seven vibrant, floating islands. Your goal? To capture and train a diverse team of over 165 unique Temtem creatures, each with their own elemental types and abilities.
The combat in this game departs from the traditional 1v1 formula of the Pokemon series. Instead, you'll send out two Temtem at a time, engaging in dynamic 2v2 battles against other tamers. This adds a layer of strategic depth, as you must consider how your Temtem's skills and type matchups synergize with one another.
Rather than relying on a finite "Power Points" system, each Temtem attack and ability consumes a certain amount of stamina. This forces players to carefully manage their resources, as depleting a Temtem's stamina can cause it to start damaging itself. Some powerful moves even require a Temtem to "charge up" over multiple turns before unleashing their full effect.
Type matchups are crucial in battle, with certain elements dealing increased or reduced damage against others. However, the game introduces the concept of "synergies", where having a specific type of Temtem on your team can enhance or modify the effects of your other Temtem's abilities. This encourages experimentation with different team compositions to discover effective combinations.
For players seeking a more competitive experience, Temtem offers a robust system for building and optimizing teams. This includes a pick-and-ban phase before battles, as well as the ability to breed Temtem and fine-tune their Inherited Traits and Stats. An in-game battle simulator also allows players to test strategies without investing significant resources.
