Invaders are living inside your computer. You shouldn't let that happen! Interact with your desktop while playing, watch Youtube videos, chat with your friends and more! CPU Invaders overlaps the game itself with your computer screen.
You control a blue character and use the WASD keys for movement. You have two primary shooting methods - a single, forward-firing shot from the left mouse button, and a semi-circular spread shot from the right mouse button. The spread shot is less powerful but covers a wider area, providing better protection against swarms of enemies.
As you progress through the 10 levels, you'll encounter enemies with different movement patterns and behaviors. Some are slow-moving but take more hits to destroy, while others are small and fast, requiring quick reflexes to hit. There are also larger "boss" enemies that spawn smaller enemies when destroyed, adding to the challenge.
The difficulty starts off relatively easy, letting you get a feel for the controls and enemy patterns. However, it ramps up significantly in the later levels, forcing you to develop strategies for dealing with the more complex enemy waves. This steady increase in challenge keeps the gameplay engaging and rewarding as you improve your skills.
Adapting to your chosen desktop background is a key part of the experience. Since the game overlays directly on top of this, the visibility of the character and enemies can vary depending on the colors and patterns. You may need to experiment with different desktop setups to find one that provides the best contrast and visibility for the game's elements.
