Earth Overclocked is a frantic rogue-lite adventure starring a scientist who is terrible at making time machines, but great at blasting bad guys. Use a diverse selection of weapons to fight off monsters while searching for pieces of your time machine in randomly generated environments.
The core gameplay loop revolves around fluid, twin-stick shooter combat. You can equip a diverse selection of over 30 unique weapon types, each with distinct properties and playstyles. Wielding shotguns, boomerangs, cannons, magical swords, and even cheese, you must effectively utilize these weapons to take down the hostile entities standing in your way.
The procedurally generated world ensures no two playthroughs are the same. You must explore the non-linear overworld and dungeons, facing off against different enemy and boss encounters. This randomized level design, combined with permanently unlockable weapons, abilities, and game modes, contributes to the game's high replayability.
The 20-minute time limit per run creates a sense of urgency and challenge, as you must balance exploration, inventory management, and efficient enemy elimination before the timer runs out. Permanent death adds to the tension, encouraging you to improve your skills with each attempt.
The game also supports up to 4-player local co-op, allowing friends to team up and tackle the procedural challenges together. This cooperative mode introduces an additional layer of coordination and chaos as you work to support each other in the hostile environments.
