Built exclusively for VR, Arizona Sunshine® puts you and up to 3 fellow survivors in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. Survive solo or in co-op, handle weapons with real-life movements, and explore a post-apocalyptic world in VR. Putting the undead back to rest is more thrilling than ever before.
The game puts players directly in the midst of a zombie apocalypse across the post-apocalyptic landscapes of Arizona. Players must use real-life motion controls to handle over 25 unique weapon types, from pistols to shotguns, and fight off the relentless hordes of zombies that threaten their survival. Scavenging the environment for scarce ammo and resources adds a tense, survival horror atmosphere to the experience.
One of the key strengths is the meticulous implementation of weapon mechanics. Using the VR motion controllers, players can intuitively reload, aim down sights, and fire each weapon with a satisfying level of realism. Lining up precise headshots or spraying ammunition into oncoming crowds of zombies feels tactile and impactful.
The game transports players through a diverse range of southwestern American settings, from the vast, sun-scorched deserts to the dark, winding mine shafts. This variety in environments keeps the exploration and combat encounters fresh and engaging. Similarly, the zombies themselves display different behaviors and characteristics, such as faster "sprinters" and tougher, armored variants, forcing players to adapt their tactics accordingly.
In addition to the single-player campaign, the game supports cooperative multiplayer for up to 4 players. Teaming up with fellow survivors adds an extra layer of strategy and camaraderie to the zombie-slaying action, as players must coordinate their ammunition, healing items, and defensive positioning.
While the main narrative campaign can be completed in 3-5 hours, the game's Horde mode provides substantial replayability. In this mode, players must survive increasingly intense waves of zombies, encouraging them to experiment with different weapon loadouts and tactics to see how long they can hold out.
