❤ Gameplay Overview

As the player, you control a ghost and must scare away all the human occupants from various locations, such as a museum, hospital, theatre, and cruise ship. The core gameplay loop involves possessing different objects in the environment and using them to frighten the people around you.

❤ Possessing Objects

You can take control of a wide variety of objects, from furniture and appliances to instruments and decorations. When you possess an object, you can activate different scare actions to startle the humans, ranging from simple movements or sounds to more elaborate effects like apparitions or destructive outbursts.

❤ Escalating Scares

As you scare more people, the "terror" level in the location increases. This unlocks additional, more powerful scare actions for the possessed objects. You can start with basic startles, then unlock more intense scares to really send the humans running. Carefully escalating the terror level is key to efficiently clearing out each area.

❤ Chaining Scares

While simply spooking people is satisfying, the game encourages you to chain your scares together. If a human flees from one scare, you can quickly possess another nearby object to startle them again before they can escape. This "scare chaining" is an effective way to rapidly increase the terror level and clear out the level.

❤ Environmental Interaction

In addition to possessing objects, you can also interact with the environment in other ways. For example, you can lure humans to specific locations, like windows, where they'll panic and jump out. Or you can strategically combine different possessed objects to create complex scare sequences.

❤ Pacing and Progression

The gameplay has a nice sense of pacing, as you start with limited scare options but gradually unlock more powerful abilities as the terror level rises. This creates a satisfying progression where you can become increasingly creative and efficient at haunting the locations. It strikes a good balance between being easy to pick up but having depth for those who want to master the mechanics.
