From the depths of hell, climb chained to your friends through diverse worlds. Solo or co-op, try to reach the summit and discover what awaits you there...
Players work together to navigate through treacherous environments, coordinating their movements as they are physically chained to their companions. The game offers two options for this cooperative platforming: an open chain, where all players are connected, or a single file chain, where one player leads the others. Synchronizing jumps and actions is crucial, as the chain's realistic physics simulation allows it to wrap around platforms and obstacles, adding an extra layer of complexity to the platforming challenges.
The diverse worlds players explore introduce a variety of obstacles, from simple platforms to more complex traps and hazards. For example, the scorching depths of hell present a very different challenge compared to the serene and visually striking Asian Shrine level. Navigating these environments requires players to adapt their strategies and communication to progress.
To cater to a wide range of skill levels, the game provides difficulty customization options. The Beginner mode includes a checkpoint system that allows players to teleport back to the highest point they reached, while the Normal mode removes this safety net, forcing players to start over from the beginning upon a significant fall. For the more experienced, the Lava mode introduces a challenging time-based element, where players must climb quickly to escape the rising lava.
The inclusion of leaderboards that track players' completion times encourages friendly competition and replayability, while the Steam achievements further incentivize players to explore the game's different modes and master the cooperative platforming mechanics.
