The original PC sensation that started it all! We've brought it back in all its virginal glory! The world was a much simpler place in 1995. The kids were listening to the grunge, the first test-tube gorilla was born at the Cincinnati Zoo, and a little trivia game called YOU DON’T KNOW JACK took the interactive CD-ROM trivia game show...
The trivia game combines classic multiple-choice questions with comedic writing and presentation. Up to 3 players compete against each other locally to answer a series of 7 or 21 questions across various topics. The game presents itself as a television game show, with a sarcastic and irreverent host guiding the experience.
Beyond standard multiple-choice, the game features several distinctive question types: Gibberish Questions Players must determine the common phrase or saying represented by a set of nonsensical words, adding an extra layer of challenge and comedy. Jack Attack The final round tests players' reflexes and knowledge in a rapid-fire word/phrase matching round. Screwing Opponents Players can use a "screw" to force an opponent to answer a question, introducing risk and strategy as using it incorrectly can backfire.
The host relentlessly mocks and insults players, both for wrong answers and for not answering quickly enough. This sarcastic, and sometimes crude, humor is a major part of the game's appeal.
With a large pool of trivia spanning diverse topics, players are unlikely to encounter repeated questions, encouraging multiple sessions.
While playable solo, the game's strength lies in local multiplayer. Competing against friends and using the "screw" mechanic enhances the social interaction and competitiveness.
