Players can choose from over 40 unique character classes, allowing for a high degree of customization. The game brings back many classic classes that were missing from the previous entry, enabling fans to experiment with familiar favorites. This variety empowers players to tailor their team to their preferred playstyle.
The game has streamlined the arduous Item World, a procedurally generated dungeon used to power up equipment. Instead of the previous 100-floor structure, it now offers shorter 10/20/30 floor runs, making the process less tedious and more accessible.
While auto-battle is still present, it now requires a resource called Poltergas to use, preventing players from relying on it exclusively. This encourages more active engagement in battles, ensuring that the core combat mechanics remain relevant and meaningful.
Jumbification allows players to transform their units into giant, map-spanning versions, granting them powerful area-of-effect abilities. Conversely, Hell Mode provides unique challenges and buffs to enemies, forcing players to adapt their strategies. The Item Reincarnation system also enables deeper customization, as players can craft powerful custom items by combining various properties and traits.
The story no longer rushes players to absurdly high levels within the first few chapters, allowing for a more balanced and satisfying power curve. This, combined with the changes to auto-battle, encourages players to engage more deeply with the game's combat mechanics and strategize their party composition.
