Call your partner and become the best detective duo in this CO-OP adventure! Gather evidence, question the suspects and point out their contradictions. Cooperation is key as neither of you have the full picture of the case! Play on two devices, local or remotely, all you need is a voice connection.
The cooperative gameplay revolves around two players taking on the roles of detectives Mark and Lara, each with their own perspective on the case they are investigating. Players must work together, sharing evidence and questioning suspects, in order to uncover the truth behind the mysterious death of David Thompson.
A key aspect is the asymmetrical nature of the investigation. Each player has access to different pieces of evidence and information, forcing them to constantly discuss their findings and compare notes in order to spot contradictions and inconsistencies in the suspects' testimonies. For example, one player may have access to a suspect's deposition that contradicts information the other player gathered from a different suspect.
Questioning the suspects and identifying these contradictions is a major part of the gameplay. Players must carefully read through the depositions and talk with their partner to pinpoint any discrepancies in the suspects' stories. This requires attentive reading, keen observation, and effective communication between the two players.
The game supports both online and local cooperative play, allowing friends or family members to team up and solve the case regardless of location. All that is needed is a voice connection to coordinate their efforts.
In addition to the suspect interrogations, players must also research information on the internet by typing in specific search terms on the police station's desktop computer. This adds another layer of cooperation as players must communicate which keywords to search for and interpret the results together.
While the gameplay focuses on cooperative investigation and deduction, the mechanics themselves are relatively straightforward and accessible. This allows players to quickly get into the experience without being bogged down by complex controls or systems.
The game encourages replayability by allowing players to experience the story from both Mark and Lara's perspectives. This adds a new layer of depth and reveals additional details about the case.
