From the developers of the Guns, Gore and Cannoli franchise comes a new 2D run & gun platformer: Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & TEEF! Spearhead an Ork invasion, destroy the hive city and kill your warboss! ‘Ere we go!
The game tasks players with controlling various Ork characters and fighting their way through hordes of enemies, including humans, Genestealer cultists, and even Space Marines, in the fast-paced, 2D run-and-gun platformer set within the Warhammer 40,000 universe.
Players can choose from four distinct Ork character classes, each with its own unique abilities and playstyles. The Flash Git specializes in ranged combat with powerful but inaccurate weapons, while the Weird Boy focuses on using psychic abilities to damage and disorient enemies. The Runtherd Beastsnagga employs a mix of melee and ranged attacks, including the ability to control a vicious attack squig, and the Stormboy is a mobile fighter who can jet-boost over obstacles and set enemies on fire with a flamethrower.
The game offers a wide array of Ork-themed weapons, including shootas, choppas, and snazzguns, which players can collect and equip. These weapons can be further upgraded by spending the in-game currency, "teef," to unlock new variants with different stats and effects. The weapon selection ranges from standard ballistic firearms to more exotic, high-damage options like the laser shotgun and the flamer, allowing players to switch between them on the fly to adapt to the fast-paced combat.
The levels are set within the hive city of Luteus Prime, featuring a mix of tight corridors, open areas, and verticality that cater to the platforming and shooting mechanics. While the platforming is relatively straightforward, with few complex jumps, it is well-integrated into the combat encounters.
Players will face a diverse array of enemies, from standard human soldiers and Genestealer cultists to more formidable foes like Chaos Space Marines and towering Ork Nobz. The game also features several boss battles, including the powerful Warboss Gutrekka, that test the player's ability to dodge attacks and unleash devastating counter-attacks.
The game offers both local and online co-op multiplayer, allowing up to four players to team up and take on the campaign. The chaotic nature of the combat is amplified in co-op, as players must coordinate their abilities and manage friendly fire. Additionally, the game includes a PvP arena mode, where players can compete against each other in one-on-one or team-based battles to determine who is the "baddest Ork in the warband."
