STAB STAB STAB is a physics-based couch-multiplayer arena stabbing game for up to 8 players. Stab your friends until they pop in versus mode, or team up to defend yourselves against an unending horde of cronenbirds!
Players control their fleshbird characters by moving their bodies and turning their heads, with stabbing actions executed by pointing their beaks in the desired direction. The lack of a dedicated jump button requires players to use momentum and timing to launch themselves into the air, with the option to stab upwards for additional boost. This innovative movement system becomes second nature quickly, enabling players to fluidly navigate the arenas and engage in the visceral combat.
The game supports up to 8 players in local multiplayer, creating a delightfully chaotic atmosphere. Players frantically stab at each other, often accidentally impaling themselves on hazards or getting pushed into deadly traps. The unpredictable nature of the physics-driven interactions adds an element of hilarity and challenge, keeping the gameplay fresh and engaging.
The game features a variety of mutations that players can pick up, such as wings, spider legs, and tumors. These mutations introduce new gameplay wrinkles, altering the way characters move and attack. The 12 unique arenas provide a diverse range of environments, each with their own set of obstacles and hazards to navigate, further enhancing the tactical depth of the combat.
In addition to the competitive versus mode, the game offers a cooperative survival mode, where players team up to defend themselves against an unending horde of cronenbirds - bizarre amalgamations of fleshbird body parts. This mode challenges players to coordinate their efforts and use the environment to their advantage as they face increasingly difficult waves of enemies.
